Refilling Print Cartridges.........don't take shortcuts. DO IT RIGHT !!
When it comes to refilling cartridges, LunarTech takes a
different approach and do not accept the limitations of traditional
technology, and therefore you may benefit in the
running cost on print cartridges. Inkjet refilling
is an "Art" and not a science. Inkjet cartridges are
designed for single use and the amount of refills you get per
cartridge can
vary from 2 up to 5.
Occasionally there are questions when refilling your inkjet cartridge. There are
many reasons why you could have
difficulties with refilling that are not related to the ink and the cartridge
will not print.
Most important is to use the correct type of ink with your
printer as they are not all the same.
Inkjet Cartridge systems hold ink in a reservoir tank or sponge as a way for
transporting the ink to the printhead.
The print mechanism is either a heated electrically charged quarts crystal
(piezoelectric) or electronically fired
resistor that
shoots the ink in precisely positioned droplets at 20,000
dots per second onto the paper.
The higher the resolution (i.e. 1440 by 720 dots per inch), the
more the image will have what is refereed to as photo quality.
For many who have newer technology devices, like digital cameras, photo realism
is the goal to achieve. The days of just plain
black & white text are fading in favor of new color graphics.
All inkjet cartridges are opened in some way to allow air in so as to displace
ink as it is consumed. If a vacuum forms the ink
would be held back like the children's fascination of a finger over one end of a
straw. The liquid does not move until the finger
is removed.
Hewlett Packard cartridges (i.e. 51626A and 29A) use an aerator system. Inside
the cartridge is a ball that works like a snorkel.
This opens and closes as air is needed to function properly. HP also uses
cartridges with bags inside to hold the ink prior to firing.
All other cartridges, over 75%, use a sponge system that holds the ink. As the
ink is fired a vacuum is created and along with
gravity the ink is brought to the resister firing chamber for the next firing of
ink.
Print heads have a number of very small openings, often called nozzles, that
allow the ink to pass through to form images
on the paper. The very small openings in the print-head hold ink until an
electronic signal causes the ink to move onto the
paper and print your picture.
